What is Uniform Civil Code

Uniform Civil Code is provided for in Article 44 of Part IV Guiding Principles of Constitution of India. The purpose of Article 44 was to establish peace among different cultural groups by eliminating discrimination against weaker groups. What are the views for and against the Uniform Civil Code?

But on the contrary, some intellectuals believe that the implementation of the UCC will end religious freedom.
